Première réunion sur le zoom de la Session Internationale JPIC qui s’est tenue le lundi 5 juillet à 12h30 heure de Paris.
La Session »Un monde en mouvement : un défi pour l’Assomption aujourd’hui » a commencé par une prière d’ouverture comprenant un chant à l’Esprit Saint, demandant la présence de l’Esprit. La lecture a été lue par Célestine Allegresse et était tirée du livre de la Genèse ch 28.15 offrant l’assurance de la présence de Dieu avec nous, et que Dieu ne nous abandonnera pas. Elle a été suivie de la vidéo d’une interview d’une femme africaine partageant son expérience de l’arrivée en France en tant que migrante et le difficile processus d’intégration dans une culture très différente. Elle vit maintenant heureuse en France depuis 20 ans, et tout en faisant l’expérience d’une grande solidarité, elle a dû se battre pour ce dont elle avait besoin et tenir bon pour ne pas abandonner.
Sœur Pilar PSA, du Secrétariat international de Justice, Paix et Intégrité de la Création a ouvert la session en souhaitant la bienvenue aux 65 participants de 30 pays de mission. En comptant les autres observateurs invités, le nombre de participants est passé à 146 plus tard dans la matinée. Pilar a noté que la pandémie nous a permis d’être frères et sœurs de tous ceux qui doivent essayer de traverser les frontières. Grâce aux différentes vidéos envoyées au Secrétariat, il a été possible de voir l’unité dans la diversité de notre service toujours centré sur l’Évangile.
Chacun/e des Supérieur(e)s Généraux/ales des 5 Congrégations de l’Assomption a souhaité la bienvenue aux participants et a remercié le Secrétariat International pour l’organisation de la Session.

First zoom meeting of the International IJPIC Session held on Monday 5th July beginning at 12.30pm Paris time.
The Session ‘ « A World on the Move: A Challenge for the Assumption today”.began with an Opening Prayer including a song to the Holy Spirit, asking for the Spirit’s presence. The Reading was read by Celestine Allegresse and was from the book of Genesis ch 28.15 offering assurance of God’s presence with us, and that God will not desert us. This was followed by a video of an interview with an African woman sharing her experience of coming to France as a migrant and the difficult process of integrating into a very different culture. She is now living happily in France for the past 20 years, and while experiencing great solidarity, she has had to fight for what she needs and not give up.
Sr. Pilar LSA, International Secretariat of Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation opened the Session, welcoming the 65 participants from 30 mission countries. Including other invited observers the numbers attending rose to 146 later in the morning. Pilar noted that the pandemic has allowed us to be brothers and sisters to all those who have to try to cross frontiers. Through the various videos sent to the Secretariat it has been possible to see the unity in diversity of our service in the centrality of the Gospel.
Each of the Superior Generals of the 5 Congregations of the Assumption welcomed the participants and thanked the International Secretariat for organising the Session.

Primer encuentro en zoom de la Sesión Internacional de JPIC celebrada el lunes 5 de julio a partir de las 12.30 hora de París.
La sesión, titulada « Un mundo en movimiento: un desafío para la Asunción hoy », comenzó con una oración de apertura que incluía un canto al Espíritu Santo por el que pedimos que nos acompañase con su presencia. La lectura del libro del Génesis (Gn 28,15) fue leída por Celestine Allegresse, en ella se nos anunciaba la seguridad de la presencia de Dios con nosotros, Él no nos abandonará. A continuación, se proyectó un vídeo con una entrevista a una mujer africana que compartía su experiencia de llegada a Francia como inmigrante y el difícil proceso de integración en una cultura muy diferente a la suya. Tras 20 años, en la actualidad vive feliz en Francia, y aunque ha experimentado una gran solidaridad, ha tenido que luchar para paliar sus necesidades y no rendirse.
La Hna. Pilar PSA, del Secretariado Internacional de Justicia, Paz e Integridad de la Creación, abrió la Sesión, dando la bienvenida a los 65 participantes de 30 países de misión, además agradeció a las personas que integran los equipos de traducción, liturgia y comunicación. En los momentos de apertura de las sesiones el número de asistentes ascendió a 146. Pilar señaló que la pandemia nos ha permitido hermanarnos con tantos que intentan cruzar las fronteras. A través de los distintos vídeos enviados al Secretariado se puede ver la unidad en la diversidad de nuestro servicio centrado en el Evangelio.
Tras estas palabras de apertura, cada uno de los Superiores Generales de las 5 Congregaciones de la Asunción dio la bienvenida a los participantes y agradeció al Secretariado Internacional la organización de la Sesión.
Sr Rekha R.A. a parlé de cette session comme d’un moment de formation Kairos pour toutes les Congrégations, revitalisant notre zèle apostolique pour les personnes déplacées. Marcelo Marciel A. A. représentant le P. Benoit A.A. a parlé du partage de la réalité des peuples migrants qui conduit à renforcer l’engagement de la Congrégation à maintenir une présence et à ne pas abandonner les personnes même dans les moments de grande difficulté, par exemple, lorsque des membres sont kidnappés. Il a cité Sœur Franca Sessa PSA, aujourd’hui décédée, qui, lors d’une visite à leur Conseil général en 2017, a dit que JPIC n’est pas une réflexion supplémentaire mais une façon de vivre l’évangile. Sœur Felicia Ghiorghies a noté que l’étape à laquelle les Congrégations se trouvent actuellement montre notre vulnérabilité et notre fragilité, mais aussi les façons dont nous avons été créatifs à travers tous les défis. Elle a appelé les participants à partager les fruits de la session avec d’autres et à développer des formes d’action qui aideront à construire « un nouveau ciel » sur la terre. Sr Marie Françoise PSA nous a rappelé qu’en tant que religieuses nous devons dénoncer avec force les injustices dont souffrent les migrants et discerner avec d’autres comment nous pouvons agir. Les récentes noyades en Méditerranée sont un scandale pour nous tous. C’est une grande grâce de vivre cette session ensemble. Nous comptons sur chacun pour nous rappeler l’importance de ces questions dans nos Congrégations. Sœur Ann H, Orante de l’Assomption, nous a rappelé que sa Congrégation, bien que n’étant pas impliquée activement dans beaucoup de ces questions, prend à cœur tout le travail des autres membres de la famille de l’Assomption, dans une prière qui s’étend au monde entier.Pilar a ensuite rappelé les objectifs de la Session et les étapes déjà franchies depuis 2018. Jose Miguel présente ensuite Jose Luis Loera notre intervenant pour cette matinée.

La Hna. Rekha R.A. se refirió a esta sesión como un momento de Kairos para la formación de nuestras Congregaciones, que revitalizará nuestro celo apostólico por los desplazados. El P. Marcelo Marciel A. A., en representación del P. Benoit A.A., insistió en la necesidad de compartir sobre la realidad de los pueblos migrantes que conduce a reforzar el compromiso de la Congregación por mantener la presencia y no abandonar a la gente incluso en momentos de gran dificultad, por ejemplo, cuando se vive el secuestro de algunos de sus miembros. Citó a la Hna. Franca Sessa LSA, ya fallecida, a la que escuchó decir en una visita del Consejo General en 2017 que la JPIC no es una reflexión añadida sino una forma de vivir el Evangelio. La Hna. Felicia Ghiorghies señaló que la etapa en la que se encuentran las Congregaciones muestra nuestra vulnerabilidad y fragilidad, pero también la forma en que hemos sido creativos a través de nuestras respuestas a tantos desafíos. Hizo un llamamiento a los participantes para que compartan los frutos de la Sesión con otros y desarrollen formas de acción que ayuden a construir « un nuevo cielo » en la tierra. La Hna. Marie Francoise LSA nos recordó que, como religiosas, debemos denunciar con fuerza las injusticias que sufren los inmigrantes y discernir con los demás cómo podemos actuar. Los recientes ahogamientos en el Mediterráneo son un escándalo para todos nosotros. Es una gran gracia vivir esta sesión juntos, por lo que cuentan con cada uno de los participantes para recordar la importancia de estos temas en nuestras Congregaciones. La Hna. Ann H, Orante de la Asunción, nos recordó que su Congregación, aunque no está implicada activamente en estos lugares, lleva en su corazón todo el trabajo de los miembros de la familia de la Asunción, en una oración que se extiende al mundo entero.
A continuación, Pilar recordó los objetivos de la Sesión y los pasos ya dados desde 2018. A continuación, José Miguel presentó a José Luis Loera nuestro ponente de esta mañana.
Jose a longuement et de manière très émouvante parlé de son travail au Guatemala, en Bosnie-Herzégovine et actuellement au Mexique où il a contribué à la mise en place de systèmes d’accueil des réfugiés, dont la Maison de l’Assomption pour les réfugiés. Même si nous sommes impuissants, nous pouvons toujours écouter. Il y a 5 « E » avec lesquels il travaille (en espagnol, ces mots commencent par E) :
« Eros » = stupeur et passion – appréciation de la vie d’autrui ; « Ethique » = tout le domaine des relations et de la vie en commun ; « Esthétique » = appréciation de la beauté, pour contrecarrer les messages des médias qui peuvent avoir une très mauvaise influence sur nous ; la « Spiritualité » qui nous aide à persévérer et à poursuivre notre travail, y compris l’engagement de solidarité avec les autres ; l' »Espérance » qui nous encourage à poursuivre notre engagement en fixant notre regard sur Jésus Crucifié, sans qui il n’est pas possible de supporter la souffrance. Il a ensuite demandé si l’amour peut « s’élever » dans de telles situations, et a répondu par une forte affirmation. Il a terminé par une prière pour la paix écrite par un Bosniaque.
Après un temps en groupe, des questions générales ont été posées sur l’accueil des gens comme Jésus l’a fait, comment s’y préparer, comment affronter les gouvernements et les institutions qui font obstacle à ce travail.
La journée s’est terminée par un dialogue avec l’orateur.

Jose spoke at length and very movingly about his work in Guatemala, Bosnia-Herzegovina and presently in Mexico where he has helped in setting up systems to welcome refugees, including the Assumption House for Refugees. Even if we are helpless we can always listen. There are 5 “E’s” that he works with (in Spanish these words begin with E):
‘Eros’ = amazement, and passion-appreciation for the lives of others; ‘Ethics’ = the whole area of relating and living together; ‘Aesthetics’ = appreciation for beauty, to counteract media messages that can have a very bad influence on us; « Spirituality » which helps us to persevere, and to continue our work, including the commitment to solidarity with others; « Hope » which helps us to continue our commitment, fixing our gaze on Jesus Crucified, without whom bearing suffering is not possible. Then asked if love can “rise” in such situations, and replied with a strong affirmative. He ended with a prayer for peace written by a Bosnian.
After some group time, there were general questions re. welcoming people as Jesus did; how to prepare for this; how to confront governments / institutions that obstruct this work.
The day ended with dialogue the speaker.

José desarrolló una larga ponencia sobre “Los movimientos de población hoy y sus implicaciones”, de forma muy emotiva, dando ejemplos sobre su trabajo en Guatemala, Bosnia-Herzegovina y actualmente en México, donde ha colaborado en la puesta en marcha de sistemas de acogida de refugiados, entre ellos la Casa de la Asunción para Refugiados. Expuso que aunque estemos indefensos, siempre podemos escuchar que “existen cinco « E » con las que trabajar: ‘Eros’ = asombro y pasión-apreciación por la vida de los demás; « Ética » = todo el ámbito de la relación y la convivencia; « Estética »=aprecio por la belleza, para contrarrestar los mensajes de los medios de comunicación que pueden tener una muy mala influencia sobre nosotros; « Espiritualidad » que nos ayuda a perseverar, y a continuar nuestro trabajo, incluyendo el compromiso solidario con los demás; “Esperanza” que nos alienta a continuar nuestra entrega fijando la mirada en Jesús Crucificado, sin el cual no es posible soportar el sufrimiento. Concluyó preguntando si el amor puede « levantarse » en tales situaciones, y respondió con una fuerte afirmación que “sí”. Terminó con una oración por la paz escrita por un bosnio.
Después de un tiempo en grupo, hubo preguntas generales sobre cómo acoger a los otros como hizo Jesús; cómo prepararse para ello; cómo enfrentarse a los gobiernos / instituciones que obstaculizan esta labor.
El día terminó con un diálogo con el orador.
