“Priest, Prophet and King, for a committed Hope in the face of collapse”.
Already in the morning, at 10 a.m., the organizing team of the session as well as some sisters including the General Council of the PSA, met in the Grenelle garden to celebrate the Eucharist according to new liturgical words proposed for Creation (Laudato’Si). This project was promoted by Pope Leo XIV, who himself celebrated the Mass for Creation, for the first time, in Rome, this Wednesday, July 9, 2025. At 2 p.m., 109 Participants connected from different corners of the world (Korea, Vietnam, Tanzania, DRC, Goma, Chile, Brazil, France, Spain, Greece, Togo, Portugal, …). Sister Bernie, PSA, led the initial prayer presenting to God our joys, our sufferings, our worries as well as our need to take care of one another. We then listened together to the theme of the previous day before introducing today’s speaker, Sr. Cécile Renouard, RA, a philosopher and professor in Paris. She presented the fruits of her work at the Transition campus and the book she wrote, « Reopening the Horizon. » On campus, she is learning and experimenting with professionals, students, and researchers on new ways to safeguard creation from the disasters resulting from global warming. It is necessary to draw from our faith the energy needed to work in solidarity to protect the Earth, our common home. We are Priest, Prophet, and King not only in ritual but especially in practice, for we are called to reconcile a world divided by conflict, to denounce the injustices within and around us, and to patiently care for the people entrusted to our care like a gardener. « I came that they may have life and have it to the fullest, » said Jesus. Taking up the 3 identifying names of our Lord Jesus Christ, comes the notion of « Doors. » There are six entry doors, presented on a panel with images, giving rise to the true meaning of life in fullness. For me, everything leads me to believe that the 6 doors connect us to an inescapable truth: 1. Living in a common world, diagnosis.
2. Discern, dialogue and decide together.
3. Measure, regulate, govern.
4. Interpret, criticize, imagine.
5. Live up to the challenges.
6. Knowledge of oneself, others and nature.
We had a good time sharing in groups based on questions left by Sr. Cécile Renouard, some participants then gave the summary of their groups. Finally, we ended the day with the prayer « Everything is connected » or « Todo es ligado, todo está conectado, » a song by CIRENEU KUHN, SVD
